Weather Costa del Sol
Lying in the south of the mediterranean, the Costa del Sol enjoys 320 days of sunshine per year on average with temperatures between June and September reaching the high 20’s centigrade.
In the winter months the weather on the Costa del Sol is still very mild and generally you will only need a jumper or cardigan to wear unless it is raining which does seem to happen most in February.
The best times to see the Costa del Sol and take advantage of some cooler weather is in May or in October where heat is not too excessive and uncomfortable as can be the case in the height of summer.
If on the other hand the beach is more your scene, you will want to come and stay during the hotter periods which are between June and September. The temperatures can get very hot so take care if sunbathing by putting on plenty of sun screen, drinking plenty of water and also make sure you do not sit in the sun for too long as sun stroke is very common in these parts.
If you drive, make sure you cover your screen in some way as steering wheels and leather seats can get extremely hot not to mention the internal temperature of the car.
Make sure that you also invest in a good pair of sunglasses with UV protection as they will get plenty of use.
